Blackwater FireworksNew Year’s Eve is always a fun time out at the rez. Most teenagers go all out with bonfires and fireworks and illegal drinking, but I was satisfied with just staying home and kicking back. Of course I had to work on New Year’s Eve, down at a convenience store, but I was okay with just heading home and catching up on some sleep afterward. My friends, though, had other plans.
About five minutes before my shift ended, my cell phone buzzed in my pocket. Technically, employees aren’t allowed to use their cell phones and we’re supposed to have them off. But who even follows that rule? Exactly. Nobody. And beca Blackwater Fireworks
